I came across Cee’s Share Your World challenge this week – I cannot believe I haven’t found it before. So I shall give it a go.
Sharing my world: 20th September 2017
I want to learn more about …
Writing a novel or a family history. Where do I really start? How does a book come out of scattered memories? So many questions and so few answers, for me anyway.
On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep?
Apart from a bed, some way to make tea. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is make a cup of tea and think about the day ahead. Anyone who knows me knows that if I have to wait until breakfast, I get very grumpy! I stayed at a place recently that didn’t have facilities and after a week, I was missing my morning fix, like you cannot believe! I had to compensate by drinking lots of strong coffee from Costa!

At the moment, I would have to say it is my camera. And lenses. I shouldn’t say this, but given the opportunity, I’d spend money on kit rather than on renovating my home! Unless I was a millionaire, of course.
What inspired you this past week?
Strangely enough, this week I’ve been inspired by an academic article. That does not happen often! I have just finished revising an article that touches on the idea of aesthetics in maths education. When I was doing background reading for the article, I came across a piece that connected the book “Wonder, the Rainbow, and the Aesthetics of Rare Experiences” by Philip Fisher with maths education. I was captivated by Fisher’s ideas because they echo my own thoughts on wonder and modern society. I’ve bought Fisher’s book to read and written about my inspiration on my blog.
