A local South African company (ORMS) in association with Canon, are running a photo competition called Frame the Future. The competition aims to celebrate South Africa’s Heritage Day (24th September), and calls for photos inspired by 4 colour themes:
- Red – showing passion
- Green – showing community
- Black – showing energy
- Blue – showing creativity
When I first looked at photos to go with the themes, I was deeply disappointed in my portfolio – I didn’t seem to have anything to match. For a few moments, I was despondent.
But then I thought, if I don’t enter, I don’t stand a chance to win. Right?
What the hell! I’ve got loads of blue images that for me symbolise creativity, all taken in South Africa (as the competition is local), so I went with some of those. I have nothing to lose after all!
