Roll on chill time!
December is a mainly a holiday month for us here in South Africa, when we have our long summer break. Most businesses shut down around the 15th or 22nd and won’t open again until the first or second week of January. The university where I work finishes tomorrow.
The first two weeks of the month are about getting everything work related finished so that we can maximise chill time. Then, for many who live inland, there is a rush to the coastal areas.
A photography focus for December …
Keeping focused on a photo theme for the month is tricky. In the past, I have done a series of daily prompts for December, which works well because I can generally find a photo for the prompt wherever I am. This year is different – I am not going anywhere. So I thought about doing something a little more theme based.
Becky over at ‘The Life of B‘ is doing a December Skies theme. She is aiming to take a photo each day of the sky in square format. I started late and am trying for a photo a day. I post each day on my 365 project so I will do a weekly round up here on my blog. What a fabulous way for me to find an everyday delight in the sky!
So here are my first 7 images, starting from 6th December.
Oh wow……what a fabulous catch up. These skies are gorgeous.

Haha! Don’t you love autocorrect? At least you understood what I meant 😊

😁 I hate autocorrect sometimes. But a god send on the small phone keyboard!

Real beauties. Those jacarandas take me right back to one of my favourite cities, Lisbon

Oh I’ve never been to Lisbon. I didn’t realise jacarandas grew in Europe. But I guess they would in warmer countries.

Gorgeous skies and clouds. I am another person who loves jacarandas having first seen them in Johannesburg. They do grow quite far north as I have also seen them in Paris.
