Can I do a month of circles in squares?

I’m gonna give it my best shot!

As I’ve said so many times before (you must be sick of hearing about it!), the only way that I can keep on target with my annual 365 photo project, is to do monthly themes. I’ve just finished a whole month of black and white, taking part in the Flash of Red February on the 365project community, which you can read about here.

Now, I am ready for some colour and something to help me get through March which is looking like it might be very busy work-wise. As the working year settles into its rhythms, I can already feel my enthusiasm dwindling and my motivation evaporating! So when Becky (Life of B) posted that she would be ‘hosting’ a month of circles in a square format, I was in. I have done this as a theme before, way back in 2015 and loved it, so I was up for trying it again. I found that once I started looking for circles in squares, they popped up everywhere! My feature pic is a shot from 2015.

Beyond the kitchen

This time, I really want to push myself to look beyond the kitchen. Last time, I fell back to using kitchen items when I was feeling uninspired. Have you noticed how many things in the kitchen are circular? The trick for me is to look for subjects that contribute to finding delight in the everyday mundane. And to keep the composition simple, to showcase the shapes within the square.

The plan, at this stage, is to post here once a week, more than likely on Sunday. If you want to see my very latest shots on 365 and not wait for the weekly roundup, click here.

Here’s to the March adventure, as Becky says!
