… I’d order a cappuccino and tell you where the idea came from. I’m doing the WordPress Everyday Inspiration course and day 11 is about sharing updates “like catching up with an old friend over a cup of coffee”. Just the most perfect idea! After reading some of the bloggers who regularly post under the tag “weekendcoffeeshare” I was inspired enough to have a go myself and to publish something for the everyday inspiration course!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that just last night we came back from a trip to the Aghulas National Park in the Western Cape of South Africa. A highlight was standing at Southernmost Tip of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet at the legendary Cape of Storms. I would share the details of the rugged coastline and the wild beauty and how being by the ocean helped to blow the cobwebs out of my brain! Literally. I’d even ask you to keep a look out for my upcoming post about the trip!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that we drove over 1800kms on that trip, and as my son cannot drive yet, I did all the driving. Luckily, I’d planned the trip down there to avoid the usual crazy traffic brought on by the long Easter weekend. As a tea drinker, I’d also tell you that I drank waaaay more coffee than I normally do to keep myself awake.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m having a quiet Easter weekend, catching up on my photography projects and with WordPress (reading and writing). There is always so much to catch up with when I go away and don’t keep to my regular schedule of posting and commenting or have access to reliable internet. But that’s what a holiday is for, right? A change from the normal daily routines.
If we were having coffee… we would talk randomly about work, about plans for bigger holidays later in the year and where we will be spending Christmas. We would talk about the books we have read recently. I’ve just finished reading “Prodigal Summer” by Barbara Kingsolver and I would say that it is one of the most beautifully written books I’ve read for ages, full of lyrical writing and extraordinary details about North American animals and insects.
If we were having coffee… I’d ask you to help me have a go at writing a story or poem using the word prompts from my new Wordplay challenge that I am trying to get up and running on WordPress. The words are: see, know, hear, sense, feel, live, imagine.
If we were having coffee… I would eventually mention that I’m contemplating doing the A to Z Blogging Challenge in April but I haven’t quite worked out what or how to do it. Should I combine it with a photo theme for my 365 project or should I just do it for my blog? I’m sure after chatting it through, I will have some inspiration for how to do it. You might say that I’m crazy for taking on another challenge but I’d say that if I could do NaNoWriMo, surely I could do this!
If we were having coffee… I’d ask after you and your family. What have you been up to this week? What are you doing for the Easter weekend?
I’m off to think about the challenge! If we were having coffee, what would you share with me about your week? I’d love to hear from you.
