Dabelle’s E-list
Dabelle has a thing for words that sound good or just roll off the tongue. Here are her top 10 favourites starting with the letter ‘E’
- elephantine
- ebullient
- eclectic
- elemental
- eish (her favourite South African word)
- escalier
- ellipsis
- emollient
- epistemology
- eurythmics
Note that the word ‘exercise’ is not on her list. She doesn’t mind taking photos of exercise gear but steers well clear of doing any. Eish! She’s not keen on getting all hot and sweaty.
The South African word of the day
eish: [Ay-sh] An expression of surprise, wonder, frustration or outrage. Example: “Eish! That hurt!” Originates from the isiXhosa and isiZulu languages.
The month of the A to Z Blogging Challenge continues with the letter E. I am combining stories about my Lego photographer friend Dabelle and a South African word. You can find out what the words on the E-list mean by going here.
