If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I was nominated for the Versatile Bloggers Award this week. Liz from Unoriginal (Love) Notes nominated my blog. I almost fell off my seat, I was so excited. But with the week I’ve had at work, I haven’t even been able to respond to it yet. But I will take this opportunity to thank her publicly for the nomination and will do more when I write my response over the weekend. This is the first time on WordPress that I have been nominated for an award and I am pleased. Watch out for the post about it!
If we were having coffee… I would proudly announce that I did manage to come up with a theme for the A to Z blogging challenge and have written the first 6 posts for A to G! Click on the image to see what is happening so far.
If we were having coffee… you would ask about the theme, and I’d say something like this: A few years back I took a series of photos of my small Legographer friend, Dabelle based on the alphabet but I did not write any stories to go with the photos. Also, as I will be leaving South Africa soon to return to the UK to live, I also wanted to include some of my favourite South African words in the month, choosing one word a day to match the letter.
If we were having coffee… I’d eagerly say that I’ve been invited to a National Maths Congress in Namibia to share the work from our numeracy / maths project here in South Africa. It will be my first visit to Namibia and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s even more delightful because it’s one of those unexpected things that happen that broaden your horizons and offer unexpected opportunities to travel. Here’s a map of where I’ll be going (Dabelle is talking about maps today too!)
If we were having coffee… I would share that I have just finished Oprah and Deepak’s free offering “Shedding the Weight: Mind, Body and Spirit” 21-day meditation course, which focussed on daily messages, mantra-based meditations, and centering thoughts. I’m sure I’ll be sharing some of my a-ha moments in future posts.
If we were having coffee… I would try to concentrate on all these wonderful pieces of news, rather than sharing the finer details about my busy week at work. Let’s keep it positive.
If we were having coffee, what would you share with me about your week? I’d love to hear from you.
