So a few weeks ago I had an epiphany about joy in my life. I want to tell that story, but another time. But as a result of the epiphany, I decided that rather than fighting it or waiting for some arbitrary time in the future for my life to be joyous and/or happy, I could really just start living joyfully! Right now!
This is what I decided
I realised, that for me, moments of joy are intertwined with gratitude. If I look for things to be grateful for (which I try to do most days), I can actually find the moments of joy in the in-between spaces. You know, those spaces when you pause between “doing things”, those times when you are right here in the now. I’ve noticed that these moments happen when I am aware/mindful, open and spontaneous. But most of all, they are driven by gratitude.
I know these moments will arise. The trick for me is noticing them. So when I do manage to notice them I shall acknowledge them by saying:
Oh yes, hello joy. I see you there.

Researching “Living Joyfully”
My mission. I plan to document when and how these moments occur. I suppose you could call it research into Joyful Living. And when all four elements come together unexpectedly and a moment of joy is revealed or I am inspired to be creative, I’ll post under Serendipitous Sundays.
Changes to this blog’s focus
Whilst these joyful moments will be Everyday Delights for me, I feel the need to re-focus a few things to align the blog with what happens in my daily life, every day. So keep an eye out for changes to some of my static pages too!
Share your joy with me
My research does not have to be limited to my experiences. I invite you to share what brings joy to your life and how it happens for you. Is it something you struggle to find or not? How do you notice joy?
