I’m always surprised at how often I need to revisit the basic principles of my blog to make sure I’m not veering too far of course. Is that something that happens to other bloggers too? Or is it just me?
Here’s a recent example. When I first started this blog, I created some “Happiness Resolutions” (an idea I got from reading one of Gretchen Rubin’s books). I used to review these every year and use them as guides in looking for Everyday Delights. You can see a list of them here.
But I recently had an epiphany about “Living Joyfully” (which I still need to write about!) that completely changed the way I thought about happiness and tipped it on its head. If you’ve been reading my “Living Joyfully” series, you will know that I decided I could really just start living joyfully! Right now! I know joyful moments will arise. The trick for me is noticing them. And when I do, these joyful moments will be Everyday Delights for me.
So, of course, I feel the need to align the blog with what happens in my daily life, every day.
I’ve talked about my Feel Good List before, and I think these reflect more of what might bring me joy or make me feel good than my original Happiness Resolutions. The items on the list are quite specific, and I have been adding to it the whole year – it’s growing nicely. It feels like a living list!
But more importantly, I’ve realised that I have been doing things from the list, sometimes every day, sometimes once a week. The point is that because they are things that naturally make me feel good, it’s easy to do them when I need a boost in energy or to find some balance in the hectic-ness of life. That, in turn, makes me feel gratitude that I can have these moments. So without further ado, I’m going to make these my focus in the coming months and will add to them as I find other small joys in my day. The Happiness Resolutions on the About Me page will be replaced with my newly updated Feel Good List, which is at the bottom of this post.
Last week, I had a guest post on the A to Z Challenge blog. My Feel Good List became an A to Z list. Have a read if you are interested!
Do you have a list of things you do that make you feel good? How often do you manage to do those things?

I like that you share where you are on the journey with your readers. Makes you real. Yesterday my daughter and I discussed our goals and I said I wanted to be real like the Velveteen rabbit, lol. (But it’s true!).
