Hey everyone.
Just a very quick check-in. The writing for NaNoWriMo continues, but I’m bushed! Finding the energy to write every night after work is taking its toll on me. But I managed to get to 31,530 words last week, in spite of a few days without any words being written at all. I’m grateful for those words that I got into the bank in Week One. Energy for keeping up with the Danbo pics for my 365project is petering out too. But I’m a completer-finisher type.
I.
Will.
Not.
Give.
Up.
But I am determined to push ahead to see if I can get to my 50,000 before the end of the month. I am aiming for the 25th November if I can. There is so much that I need to apply myself to for my upcoming immigration to the UK at end of January next year.
I need this particular, self-imposed challenge to be finished… there are many more challenges to overcome, that are not self-imposed. I also want to get back to posting regularly on here. I can’t do that when I’m putting all my writing energy into NaNo.
You’re also wondering if I managed to grow any forests this week. I will have to check my phone to see what I achieved.
See you next week.

Congratulations, Deb. I can’t imagine working full time plus writing that many words. 🙂

Thanks Cathy. It has been exhausting, but I knew what to expect from last year! The way I cope is to completely relax for a few hours when I get back from work. And then write after dinner. I’m fortunate as I’m single, and my son has flown the nest, so I only have myself to look after in the evenings.
I’m so nearly done!

Wow, good for you! So a whole book in one month? I don’t know that I could do it. 🙂

It is possible – just! I’m sure you could do it, if you drew on journal writing entires? Next year, maybe?
I drew on a lot of my journal writing (Morning Pages) for inspiration.
So, it might be a whole “book” (note the quotes!), but its a very, very rough draft and will need a lot of editing and reorganisation. But the thoughts are on paper. Thats the aim, I guess. :))

So are you writing a memoir or a novel? I have a completed novel (not published), a novel-in-progress and a memoir-in-progress. I hope to finish one of them this year. For my memoir, I also rely heavily on my morning pages and journals. It’s good just to get a rough draft down. There will always be time for editing later. 🙂 Good for you!!

I call it ‘creative non fiction’, Kind of a memoir. I also have a half finished novel from last year. Planning to start editing both during my self funded sabbatical next year. I hope!
Gosh, I hope you get one finished and published. That would be fabulous!

I hope I can do that too, Debs. That’s great about your upcoming sabbatical. 🙂
