in 2018, I took part in this A to Z Challenge, with my little Lego friend Dabelle as the star of the show. She choose one South African word a day to match the letter of the alphabet and to incorporate it into a short story. You can read more here.
With everything that is going on with corona virus and a lock down in the UK imminent, I wondered if this challenge might be just what I need to give me a much-needed daily focus during the enforced isolation period. I will need to take a photo and write a small story to go with it every day for 26 days, which will help me kick start my non-existent creativity – I hope! The last time we did this challenge, we were in South Africa, so it will be doubly challenging to do all of it indoors here in the UK.
The gauntlet is down!
Well, of course Dabelle will be the star of the show again, and she may even invite Larry (her BFF) along too. She and Larry live in isolation most of the time (in their tin), but she will come out of isolation to help me feel less alone during the lock down period (however long it lasts).
Dabelle’s Lockdown Adventures
Dabelle loves quests and adventures, so you can be sure that she (and Larry, somewhat reluctantly) will turn the house upside in the name of adventure. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! My intention is to see if I can find 26 days of Everyday Delights. Let’s hope Dabelle and I can work together to bring you a coherent story!
Who is Dabelle?
Dabelle was born nameless in the Lego factory. When she came to live with us, we gave her a name and she lived in Africa with me and my son for a long while. Now she lives with me in England, on the Isle of Wight.
Like me, Dabelle loves travelling, and she is a photographer too. She will go just about anywhere and do just about anything for a photo. Her motto is “one hand for myself and one for the camera!” Click on her image to find all her stories!
I’m looking forward to following other people’s Challenges too, it was fun last time to see what people come up with.
