Time to leave the funk behind

Now, there’s a hopeful title!

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and coping with coronavirus wherever you live in the world.

Coming out of the funk?

Let’s face it, it’s been a while since I blogged and took photos (apart from photos of my art) with any regularity. I just cannot seem to get out of this photography funk.

However, there does seem to be a small flickering light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. It’s ironic, that now I’ve started full time work again, I feel more inclined and energised to do photography. How does that work?

Regardless, I’m going with the flow and how I feel in the moment. I’m obviously delighted to be feeling like this, but I am not counting my chickens just yet!

To give me a push out of my funk, I am hoping to try and do 2 challenges, combining the 2 challenges into one image if I can.

I’ve always found challenges to be really helpful for when I’m “stuck”, especially ones with random prompts, because they help me to think out of the box, looking for objects in my home that might work or finding things out on walks.

  • Susannah Conway’s (@SusannahConway) April Love challenge happening on Instagram. She has provided a list of prompts for the month (see below) and we can post these using the hashtags #AprilLove2021 and #AprilLove
  • Becky’s April Bright Squares happening here on WordPress. Becky’s challenges are always fun, although I haven’t done a full month of one in a while. This time around the theme is “Bright” – so any photo related to bright in any way. Oh yes, and the photo has to be square! I’m aiming / hoping to do a weekly post about my bright squares.

But don’t hold your breath! Let me see how the month pans out and I will do my best to keep up!

I am so very happy you are returning for squares, and honoured it is one of the two challenges you hope is going to renergise your photography. Just splendid 🙂 and whether you are here weekly or even fortnightly the square community will be here to celebrate your squares

Oh thanks so much for that welcome )or welcome back) Becky. I really, really need this push, so I will keep at it! Its always so comforting to know that your challenges are there when I need them! Thanks for all the work you do in putting them together. Those retrospectives you did recently were incredible and must’ve taken a shed load of time!
