Weleda Wellbing Advisor
Welcome! I am now a Weleda Wellbeing Advisor. Woohoo! Let me explain what that entails and who Weleda are as a company.
My story – serendipity
I recently applied to be a Weleda Wellbeing Advisor. As with so many things in my life these days, being a Weleda Wellbeing Advisor was not something I’d planned let alone thought of but rather something that happened in a serendipitous way. I find I am constantly being made aware of or “led” to things that I have never considered. That is one positive benefit of being open and curious I guess!
I saw a link on Instagram – Weleda were looking for Wellbeing Advisors. A little voice said “click on it, Debs”. I read the information about the company, products and the role. I had a good feeling in my body and in that moment, I found myself signing up. I was surprised to see how quickly I was contacted by an area mentor and after an phone interview, I was accepted.
In harmony with nature and the human beingWeleda Our Story page
I’ve been on a journey towards wholeness for a long time now (and it is the main thread in the book I am writing). So it seems logical that I would be attracted to a “job” and a company that has an ethos that aligns and harmonises with my own. It is logical that I can carry through the idea of wholeness into my health and beauty regime.
You can read more about why I signed up in my Introductory post.
Who are Weleda?
Sustainable and organic health and beauty
The company was started in 1921 by a forward thinking Rudolf Steiner (1861 to 1925) based on the concept of “anthroposophy” a formal educational, therapeutic, and creative system. This is a holistic view of the human being comprised of a body, soul and spirit and the understanding of the Earth as a living organism connected to the entire cosmos: harmony between nature and the human being.
The company ethos is founded on principles of sustainability (they have a sustainability programme – see the 2018 Sustainability Report), fair trade, ethical practices, recycling and high quality. Additionally, the products are certified through NATRUE and in 2018 the company became the first European brand to be awarded the Union of Ethical Biotrade (UBET) certificate for ethical raw material sourcing (Source: Annual and Sustainability Report 2018), Many of the products are vegan, none of them have been tested on animals and they are working towards more sustainable packaging options.
What does a Wellbeing Advisor do?
The job will work in harmony with you and your lifeWeleda Wellbeing Advisor page
You can see that the holistic approach that the company takes harmonises perfectly with my own values of wholeness. As a wellbeing advisor, I am self-employed and I earn commission on any Weleda products that I sell. This sounds the same as many pyramid schemes, but what makes Weleda different is two things. Firstly, no one else earns commission on my sales and we do not have individual sales targets. Otherwise I would not have signed up. Secondly, Weleda advisors are trained to inform, advise, recommend, educate and not sell.
The focus for a Weleda Wellbeing Advisor is not really selling products; it’s a way of sharing knowledge and experience of natural health, beauty and wellbeing.Weleda Wellbeing Advisor page
I am just at the beginning of my new role, but I run wellbeing events (in people’s homes, at festivals etc), give one to one facial skin care consultations using Weleda products and provide an aftercare sales and repeat order service. All of these are free. As I progress along my path, I hope to be able to offer other types of massages (such as hand and foot), and other services.
All the products are 100% natural and organic, they carry a “try before you buy” option and have a 30-day money back guarantee.
I’m currently based in Berkshire, England. If you are interested in finding out more about Weleda’s products, would like a catalogue to browse through (they are packed to the brim with information) or interested in hosting a Wellbeing Event, do get in touch with me using: firstname.lastname@example.org or by leaving me a comment below.
